CORE launched its Medicine Maker’s Apprenticeship in 2017. The apprentices learn:
The history of herbs
How to identify plants
Hands-on gardening
Traditional uses of plants and herbs
In 2020 CORE began a study group in Spanish on medicinal plants, led by Sonia Vasquez, Nutrition and Wellness Program Manager.
Youth Intern – one youth will intern in springtime and a few more will have the opportunity in the summer. The internships allows young people to gain hands-on experience in herbal medicine, nutrition, and gardening. These paid opportunities are an important part of our community impact.
